Disciplinary code for Valke Rugby Referee Society. Drafted January 2020
With reference to our Discipline Protocol as published on our website, herewith a shortened version for your convenience.
Disciplinary hearings will be conducted together with the Disciplinary committee as well as the referee in discussion. The referee will have the opportunity to state his side before a decision will be made.
The following are examples of possible misconducts that can result to a disciplinary hearing.
- Not pitching up for appointed games.
- Being late for an appointed game.
- Not wearing correct on field attire, not being presentable as a Valke referee this includes piercings.
- Discussing other members in the Society in a degrading way that can cause harm.
- Making yourself unavailable after schedules is published.
- Withdrawal of appointments without valid reason or withdrawal more than 5 weeks in a season.
- Involving yourself in a fist fight or verbal fight with the public or coaching staff.
- Pitching to a game intoxicated. ( Alcohol or any other substance)
- Getting intoxicated while in Valke Rugby Referee Society attire.
- Inappropriate messaging as a representative of VRRS on ANY social media platform
- Continuing non submission of red and blue card reports.
- Any conduct that can put the VRRS in a bad light.
The possible outcomes, but not limited is as follow. It is up to the disciplinary committee to choose the suitable outcome.
- Total suspension of VRRS membership.
- Match fees will be deducted.
- Withdrawal of appointments for a specific amount of weeks.
- Any other suitable punishment that the committee deem necessary.
